Country tree farm in Bellville, about an hour west of Houston, open weekends from Thanksgiving to the weekend before Christmas.

Martin Farms is a working farm on Highway 159 east of Bellville, in Austin County, about an hour's drive from west Houston. The Christmas season brings Texas-grown trees, wreaths, hayrides, a kiddie train and snacks. The farm also hosts events through the year, including a pumpkin festival in the fall.

The farm says harvest days may be cut short in years with fewer trees ready to cut, so call ahead late in the season.
