Long-running Spring farm with 40 acres of pine and cypress to cut, plus pre-cut firs, a train ride and Santa on weekends. Free entry.
Old Time Christmas Tree Farm sits on Spring Cypress Road, inside the Houston suburbs, which makes it the easiest cut-your-own farm to reach from much of north Houston. It grows pine and cypress on about 40 acres; the farm lends saws and measuring sticks. If you prefer a fir, it also sells pre-cut northern trees kept in water.
Entry is free. On weekends and the day after Thanksgiving there is a train ride, slide, bounce house and Santa, which need tickets. Leashed dogs are welcome. To cut your own tree, arrive by 5 pm.
