Galveston's Victorian-London holiday festival: costumed vendors, parades and four stages along the historic Strand.
Dickens on The Strand turns Galveston's historic Strand district into 19th-century London for one weekend in early December. Costumed vendors sell holiday food and drink, crafts, clothing, jewelry and decorations, and there are parades, four stages of entertainment, a play area for young children and a village of traditional crafts.
2026 is the 53rd year of the festival, run by the Galveston Historical Foundation. Visitors who come in Victorian costume have traditionally paid a lower admission.
